Exclusive Interview: Greg Rutherford Takes Flight

Take Flight was inspired by a decade of training at the top. The program incorporates 12 weeks of fat burning, 30-minute workouts, for all levels of fitness designed around a number of exercises that made Greg Rutherford an Olympic Champion.

Greg tells me that –

“About a year ago, I got together with Andrew to have a conversation to put together the thought process on how something like this could work.”

“You always see these different fitness and health drives come in and out and different fads, and often people look at professionals athletes and say ‘I want to look like that’ or ‘I want to do the sort if work that they do’ but do not have the access.

So, Andrew and I thought how can we put that in a way in which people can understand without being too intense but still get a feel for what athletes go through to stay fit and perform.”

What impresses me most is how down to earth and in tune Greg is with the thought process of a wannabe athlete without having to put the amount dedication into it that professional athletes such as Greg actually do.

As mentioned, the Take Flight training guide incorporates a lot of the exercises that Greg himself took part in. With this in mind I attempt my hand at a little humour, asking if we need to ‘go out and buy a sandpit?’

This is met with laughter (although more out politeness I sense rather than for my comedic performance) but Greg does go on to tell me:

“The beauty of it is you don’t have to have any fancy equipment, with Take Flight you have the ability to just crack on and fit it around your lifestyle.”

“Having an online platform you can access at home means that no matter when you are free you can schedule that in and change it if needs be.”

This is an important factor for a lot of people. Time is often used as an excuse. We have other things going on in our lives which makes Take Flight appealing for its flexibility.

I go on to ask Greg a little more about the science behind Take Flight with Plyometrics playing a key role:

“Plyometrics are jump based exercises which are quite explosive and very tiring on the body which not a lot of people have really tapped into outside of professional sport.”

“Plyometrics are great for building speed, power and muscle and I wanted to put it in a way that people can understand  and gain access to it which has a real positive effect on the body.”

Take Flight Two

What is most exciting about Take Flight is the ‘untapped’ exercise market which few people have tried before.

With Greg’s undoubted expertise you will receive step by step instructions over a dedicated 12-week training program which can be done anywhere but most importantly is totally different to anything else out there.

You cannot help but be intrigued and with the added bonus of nutrition and motivation guides along with a fully easy to use online portal, Take Flight becomes the perfect way to jump start your 2017.

Finally, I can relive 2012 again, only this time actually feel a part of the action.
