Ian Waterhouse recently interviewed Stourbridge’s Club Secretary Clive Eades to expand on his comments in the previous article and how extra exposure will help propel non-league clubs forward.
Pitchero is a team management system which makes it easier for managers to communicate with their players. Last week we published an article about PitcheroPlay streaming non-league Northern Premier League games, and their plans to expand this service to other leagues whose games are not televised. Here’s what Clive had to say about the impact technology is having at Stourbridge FC.
He told me: –
“Certainly, our social media side has gone up, our twitter following has seen a significant rise but commercially we are very lucky as we already have a lot of long standing partners of the football club, but the exposure that we have got can only help”
“Our main sponsor has been us for eight years now and from their point of view they have loved it having their name splattered across the newspaper”.

I go on to ask Mr Eades how a non-league club go about gaining new sponsors and the troubles faced in the pursuit for funding.
He tells me: –
“At our level, we don’t get a huge amount of coverage, you have the die-hard non-league stuff like the Non-League Paper and our websites but we try to attract numerous businesses to invest as opposed to having all of our eggs in one basket”
I now move on and ask Mr Eades how he thinks Pitchero’s live broadcasting will help Northern Premier League Clubs gain extra exposure and commercial opportunities going forward.
“It can only help, you have BT Sport who do the National League but it doesn’t go below that, but what we really is for it to attract more people to the game. That will gain us admission fee’s a drink behind the bar, we have scarfs, replica kits and fortunately due to the cup run they have been flying out”.
Stourbridge FC have clearly been the beneficiaries that the success on the field brings, particularly in the FA cup.

The chance for more Northern Premier League sides to be seen and heard can only be a positive for the long-term survival of clubs at non-league level.
However, what is most exciting about this is the commitment Pitchero are making to non-league football.
Pitchero CEO Mark Fletcher said; “This is a strong demonstration of our commitment and passion for football at all levels, and an exciting start as we plan to make the local game more accessible than ever before”
The long-term dream of all non-league clubs is the belief that they can make it to the football league.
This broadcast deal is the first major stepping stone in levelling the playing fields.
