It appears that technology’s role in revolutionising the fitness industry knows no bounds and even extends to the way we take our protein powder.
The team at PROMiXX have ripped apart everything you thought you knew about your protein shaker and created a gadget that even James Bond would raise an approving eyebrow at.
As a former gym manager, one of the biggest frustrations was people spilling their protein powder all over my nicely clean changing room floors or even worse, the gym floor as they tried to scoop their powder in their shakers with a little plastic spoon and spill it all over the floor as they lamely attempted to mix it.
However, back in 2012, Joe Faulkner-Edwards spotted a gap in the protein shaker market and set to work on creating his own design.
The PROMiXX vortex mixer was the result of Joe and his teams work and after its launch, went on to sell over a quarter of a million units around the world.
What made the vortex mixer different, was that it utilised a special ‘blunt blade’ which created a vortex inside the bottle and caused a flow to allow natural mixing of the powder into the liquid eradicating any lumps and achieving equal distribution throughout the bottle.
However, that was then, and this is now so the team at PROMiXX have been hard at work in integrating even more technology into their latest product, the MiiXR.
The MiiXR boasts numerous new features such as 2 lithium-ion batteries to power the ‘blunt blade’, a magnetic connection system, AND if that wasn’t enough, you can even charge your phone from it thanks to a built-in USB port.
Cardiff based founder and CEO of PROMiXX, Joe Faulkner-Edwards, had this to say about the new MiiXR:
“We are very excited to introduce MiiXR to the world. It marks a significant evolution in supplementmixing technology and the result really is something quite special.”
The MiiXR has also received the backing of numerous professional athletes, including Commonwealth gold medallist Louise Hazel who said:
This by far one of the coolest gadgets in my kit bag
The MiiXR is set for general release in the UK in July this year and is expected to be a big hit.
Whoever knew that even a drinks shaker could allow us to charge our phone whilst mixing protein powder, juice or even eggs.
