The NBA and NextVR, the Official LEAGUE PASS VR partner of the NBA, will broadcast the 2017 State Farm® All-Star Saturday Night and 66th NBA All-Star Game live in virtual reality internationally through NBA LEAGUE PASS, with the exception of China, Canada and the United States.

Additionally, NextVR, as part of its multi-year partnership with the NBA, will offer live regular-season NBA games in virtual reality internationally, except in China. Beginning Feb. 23, fans will be able to experience live NBA games in virtual reality with an NBA LEAGUE PASS subscription or a Single Game pass.

Starting at 1 a.m. GMT on Feb. 19, fans can experience State Farm® All-Star Saturday Night featuring three signature events: The Taco Bell Skills Challenge, JBL Three-Point Contest and Verizon Slam Dunk. On Feb. 20 at 1 a.m. GMT, NextVR will present the live virtual reality broadcast of the 66th NBA All-Star Game.

“Our focus at NextVR is to provide fans around the globe with breakthrough, immersive VR experiences through premium events they may never have the opportunity to attend in person,” said Brad Allen, NextVR Executive Chairman.

“Live broadcasting All-Star Saturday Night and the NBA All-Star Game in virtual reality underscores our commitment to bringing fans from around the world closer to the action.”

For the first time in a live NBA broadcast in virtual reality, fans will have the option to switch between a stationary courtside view of the action or experience the produced feed through multiple camera angles. NextVR’s live virtual reality broadcasts of NBA games are fully produced with dedicated announcers, including three-time NBA champion Bruce Bowen, optimised graphics including real-time statistics, and instant replays in VR.

Following the All-Star Game and State Farm® All-Star Saturday Night, fans around the world will be able to access free video-on-demand highlights in virtual reality. Fans with either a Google Daydream View or Samsung Gear VR headset can download the free NextVR app and access the All-Star Channel to experience NBA All-Star in virtual reality and the NBA Channel for regular-season games.
